Enough, People.

The Virginian Pilot has printed an article about a Transgender opera singer.

It pisses me off that one of the commenters (and you knew it was going to happen) stated it was an “abomination” … actually, the comment is:

I agree, it’s an abomination! God does not make ‘mistakes’ & 4 Thomas to be born as Thomas, he should have stayed there.

So, it’s your narrow-mindedness that also would cause you to spout off about homosexuals being an “abomination” — which means to me, that even if one were to undergo a gender change (and therefore become a “heterosexual” couple in the eyes of the law), it still would be wrong for them to be in love with each other.

Personally, as long as the people are consenting adults, I see nothing wrong with one person loving another. Leave the children, animals and kitchen implements out of it folks. I don’t care what your gender is, love should be love. It should be celebrated. Not reviled.

I love how the commenter quoted above knows God well enough to make the blanket comment of “God does not make mistakes”. The scary thing is that in their heart, they honestly believe it. What about babies born with HIV? Or born with other incurable diseases, such as cancer?

That’s what’s wrong with most fantatics in the world today. They have the blinders on and can’t see the big picture.

Warning. Inflamitory comments to this thread will be deleted and will result in you being banned from commenting on the blog. Civilized debate is always welcomed; namecalling and flamewars are not.

I hadn’t read this before but how profound! Jesus worked on the inclusion model “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. He was the first to engage someone who had been marginalized and lift them up. He also said “However you do to the least of my people there you do also to me”. We are all God’s children and in the words of Janis Joplin “if it feels good and it doesn’t hurt anybody, do it.” We just need to respect one another whether it is for our choices or our natures.
