Musical Autobiographical Movie Time!

As found at Lachlan’s.

If Your Life Was a Movie, What Would the Soundtrack Be?

The Rules:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool…

Opening Credits: “Could’ve Been” (Tiffany). Wow. Given my current title as King of Doom, I guess this is prophetic. (Or just pathetic.)

Waking Up: “Use It Up & Wear It Out” (Pat & Mick). After “doin’ it all night long,” I guess you’d have to bounce to wake up. This song definitely bounces.

First Day at School: “No Ordinary Love” (Sade). Yeah. Well, I was always considered “strange” and I had unconventional relationships (and still do).

Falling In Love: “Sweet Dreams” (Air Supply). Ok, WinAmp, what are you trying to tell me? That I like cheesy 80s music, or that I’m a romantic at heart? (Both are true, by the way.)

Fight Song: “Tragedy” (Bee Gees). ‘Nuff said.

Breaking Up: “A Lover Spurned” (Marc Almond) I swear I’m not fudging this or making it up. Having been both the other man, and cheated on, somehow this is right on cue.

Prom: “Sail On” (Commodores). It just didn’t work out with any of the three high school “loves of my life”. ECF, MD, and TVE, forgive me I know it’s a shame, but I’m giving you back your name…

Life: “Someday” (Glass Tiger). October 10, 1986. Nothing more to be said. Ever.

Mental Breakdown: “Dance With A Stranger” (Bananarama). ‘A wicked smile, a shifting glance, when passion bites you, feel at last how pleasure somehow eases the pain, too late to chance it all again…’

Driving: “Hungry” (Kosheen). How funny. Just what my car is named. How…a propos.

Flashback: “Crazy” (Patsy Cline). Accurate for EVERY one of my relationships. I was crazy for loving them.

Getting Back Together: “Only Time Will Tell” (Asia). ‘You’re leaving now, it’s in your eyes.’ Getting back together never worked for me.

Wedding: “(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight” (Cutting Crew). Not what I would have envisioned being played at my wedding, but, it is a quasi love song.

Birth of Child: “Like To Get To Know You” (Spanky & Our Gang). Newcomers take time, I’m so sure. LOL.

Final Battle: “A Question Of Honour” (Sarah Brightman). Wow. Another bang on. When two men collide…it’s a question of honour.

Death Scene: “Sirius/Eye In The Sky” (Alan Parsons Project). For someone who believes I’ve been here before, and will be here again, somehow this is very appropriate, if only to my own warped mind.

Funeral Song: “Cherish” (Kool & The Gang). Remember, after you’re gone, all you have are the memories to cherish.

End Credits: “Human” (Human League). Of flesh and blood, I’m made.
