Slow-Cooker Pot Roast

4 lb. beef roast (bone in or boneless, doesn’t matter)
Salt & pepper to taste
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 c. A1 Steak Sauce
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup
4 large potatoes, washed, peeled and diced
4 large carrots, washed, peeled, and cut into bit sized pieces
1 medium onion, sliced 1/4″ thick
3 cups red wine

Place vegetables in bottom of slow cooker. Sprinkle package of onion soup mix and garlic powder over the veggies. Salt and pepper roast liberally on all sides, then roll in flour so the roast is coated all over.

Place roast on top of veggies, slowly pour A1 over roast and then add red wine to the side of the roast (to not wash off A1/flour coating). Beef broth may be substituted if you do not cook with wine.

Cook on high for 4-5 hours or until meat is tender. The flour will thicken the wine and make a delicious gravy.

Wonderful served with hot biscuits and a green salad.
