Ramblings of Silver Blue

I am SO blogging this

…or at least that was what I told someone last night at their 40th birthday party. It ended up being a nice diversion to everything else that is going on in my life.

Before I forget, I promised shout outs to Collie, Chris, Mark, Chris, Tim, Mario & Patrick. Thanks for Friday night guys. It was a real spirit lifter — just what the doctor ordered. Good times with friends I’ve known for longer than I care to mention.

Yesterday was sad, in a way. In case you haven’t heard, Tink has lost an uncle (the funeral is tomorrow) so things have been rather somber around Casa Blue. She’ll be coming home Monday night.

Had a friend of a friend turn 40 (as I already mentioned) and attended the gathering. It was nice, and I was home by 10:30. Everyone was shocked that I wore socks.

This morning I wasn’t feeling myself (no, I wasn’t feeling anyone else either) so I put together the overheads for the church and went back to bed. The fact that it was communion Sunday and I wasn’t there should tell you a thing or two about the way I was feeling.

From the chronicles of steppin’ in it and smellin’ like a rose, I went to Best Buy today, and through a combination of instant rebates, rebate-zone coupons, and sales, I was able to pick up 200 blank DVDs as well as an external USB 2.0 DVD recorder that does DVD+R, DVD-R, the RWs, DVD-RAM, Dual Layers, CD Recording AND has LightScribe technology, all, after tax, for $131. I’m mighty proud of myself, if I do say so myself.

And I do. LOL.

Life’s a bit empty every now and then, what with friends being away, this starting the week of Spring Break at CHK, and things just basically being so gosh-darn busy. But I know everyone’s ok, and they know I am. For those who gave up libations for Lent, no fear. I’ll turn a glass down for you, and keep you in my heart.
