Greetings from Ohio

Ok, so I didn’t let anyone know I was going to be on the road — that’s because I figured out I’d be able to report in from time to time — and let you all know what was going on. I’ve been to the one chinese buffet in town and will have a report […]

Ok, there’s a problem

with inventory control, obviously. Came home last night around 8. Power completely off. Seems the transformer blew behind the house. Called Dominion Power, they said power should be restored no later than midnight. Of course, they weren’t counting on having to bring a transformer down from Richmond, I guess, because that’s what happened. Then they […]

Came home and there was no power. Just got it back shortly after 2am. Of course there was laundry to do and stuff, which didn’t get done. Never fails, I guess. 🙁 Well, back ot the task at hand and I’ll chat with everyone later.

Not too much to say today

…as you have figured out by my lack of posts. Just so many things to think about and do…almost like I don’t have enough time to do it all in. All I wanna do is nap. Ever had a day like that?

Don’t know how to post this…

…my heart goes out to PR, who last night had to make one of the two decisions I hope I never have to. He had to make the decision to move his mother to a nursing home. While it is hoped that this is a temporary thing, the doctors have been quite blunt. The nerve […]

Morning Humour

A few things I’ve learned from watching movies: 1 .All beds have special L-shaped cover sheets which reach up to the armpit level on a woman but only to waist level on the man lying beside her. 2 If being chased through town, you can usually take cover in a passing St. Patrick’s Day parade […]

Thought of the Day

Thought for the Day If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the last 22 months, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are 25% more likely to […]

There has been a question

As to the complexity of submitting a pledge to the Blogathon 2005. Here’s the easiest way to do it: Make sure you’ve added my site to your Favorites (or bookmarks) if you haven’t already. Click on the Clock on the left. Click on “Register”. Create your account (user ID and password). Once you’ve done that, […]

Food For Thought

From World Features Syndicate: Communicating on the Internet 1. Instant messages sent in a day: 5 billion to 6 billion 2. Instant messages that are spam: 5 percent 3. Instant messenger users: 400 million 4. Spam blocked by AOL: 1.6 million every minute 5. Email that contains a virus: one in ever 11* *In the […]

The Drug Problem in America

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ”Why didn’t we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?” I replied: I had a drug problem when […]

What, you say?

You were expecting more posts yesterday than the poor, piddly joke I posted? Well, allow me to try to explain. Was meeting up with Bonecollector yesterday to transfer out her dad’s computer with a much faster refurbished machine. Would have been wonderful had the program (PCMover) done everything it said it would. Which is almost […]

Morning Humour

The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their […]

Finally Friday.

Not a day too soon, I might add. Trying not to plan too much for the weekend, as next weekend I’ll be on the road, and the one after that will be the Blogathon (please click the banner and sponsor me!). I do have plans to go over to BoneCollectors and help her out with […]

I never considered myself someone who would ever have the need for a collections agency, but unfortunately, that time has come. It’s painful, because the person that I’m having to send to collections I’ve tried to help out in their business by paying for their website, trying to get information from them to keep it […]

Growing Older, Slowing Down

You know, it’s a shame at the young age of 36 to decide that it’s time to slow down. With as quick as the world moves, where information can move around the world in a blink of an eye, humans simply can’t keep up. We can try, but we end up suffering from information overload. […]

London, Part Deux

It’s bleak times when a city can be ravaged again and again by hate-filled people. I’m not saying those who are responsible for todays explosions in London were also responsible for the deaths two weeks ago, but allow me to burn karma points by sincerely wishing that you burn in hell (if there is, in […]

Look..a new day has begun…

(title shamelessly taken from Cats) After a crappy night of lack of sleep balanced with passing the heck out, I’m somewhat functioning today. Meaning: I’m here. That’s all I’m agreeing to. Thanks to the anonymous sponsor who has pledged $10 to ModestNeeds.org should I complete the BlogAThon. It really is appreciated. I just hope that […]

Not in the best of moods

Well, most important news first: they’ve admitted PR’s mother to the hospital, with the suspicion that she may have fractured a vertebrae in one of her falls, thereby leading to pain and weakness in her legs (pain, I might add, that not even morphine can assist with). They’re planning on an MRI tomorrow to do […]

Moving from bad to (feared) worse

PR’s Mom is back in the ER. Five days after being released, she collapsed (or fell, not sure which) while being accompanied and using a walker. He’s currently down in Elizabeth City at the moment, and I’m waiting on a call to find out what’s going on. Prayers are in order…. his mom’s next door […]
