Ahhh, Life

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:25 pm by Think-Tink

Life is really weird right now.

Work-wise Witha is leaving and we are starting to review resumes. It amazes me how people think they can apply for a job with no background for it.

Home- wise SB comes back tomorrow, which will make things sort of back to normal.

Friend wise, keep Revog in your thoughts. She is having to force some issues.

Date-wise, I got invited to dinner tonight. It was good and we walked and talked. Busch Gardens is in the future sometime.

Lifestyle- change-wise, I have lost a fifth of what SB did. You would think eating no fat and little amounts of carbs would do more.

Family-wise, I am jealous that I am not in Atlanta to play with Celtic Mama and the girls. It sounds like they are having a blast.

Weekend Wrapup

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:00 pm by Think-Tink

Thunderstorms are fun to watch. The headache they give me isnt.

It is nice to have a weekend with no plans. I did a little bit of everything.

I am using a pattern for the first time in my knitting. I doubt anyone can tell it…

Thrift stores can be wonderful, if you hit them at the right times. Paperback books for a quarter is an awesome deal.

Lost Worlds on History Channel is an interesting show.

I haven’t been out much because of all these storms.

Something to think about…

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:21 pm by Think-Tink

SB and I saw something on Monday that gave me pause. I needed to stop by the library, and it is near a Funeral Home. We saw the limo pull out and 2 cars after and that was it. If it was a funeral, the person did not have alot of people to come say a final goodbye. I sure hope it wasn’t a funeral…

When I pass on, I hope that there are more people to honor my memory and help guide me on the way.

Weekend + Wrap Up

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:34 pm by Think-Tink

Time does fly…

The weekend was good.

I had a date that went well. I know we will be going out and doing more. I am unsure if it will be romantically or as friends.

The digeredoo can be alot like bagpipes…it all sounds the same until you really listen and start to understand what is behind the sounds. Be it bloated sheep’s carcass or termite hollowed wood.

Good intentions pave the road to many places…not all of them good.

Keep SB in your thoughts. His world is getting shaken to the core. Some by his own doing some not.

Would people really buy the beaded jewelry I make?

I want to go see Hairspray and No Reservations.

Stouffers Lasagna made all 3 of us sick. Be warned!

Whiners are coming out at work.

Keep Revog in your thoughts too. She is having to escalate somethings that she was hoping she wouldnt have to.

The nieces sound like they are having a great time with Celtic Mama.

Vito’s Pizza is still really good.

Having a place to have sanctuary is good.

Witha had a birthday today. She is still pretty young. How can in a friendship 8 or more years doesn’t mean much, but in a romantic relationship it was a world of difference?

Finding a cave somewhere with high speed internet access doesn’t sound like a bad idea sometimes.

In some way I feel sorry for Michael Vick. If his case goes to trial, there is no place really that he will get a fair one. Even not trying to read the info you would have seen or heard something.

Some people just let parts of their life go. This person wasn’t that close to me, but he was to SB and PR before he left the area. He came back recently and didn’t even call…

Double Rainbow!

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:18 pm by Think-Tink

It was a great morning on the way to work. After stopping for bubbly (I was out at work), SB and I proceeded out of the lot and he says to look, there is a rainbow. I looked and very very faintly ther was another rainbow there too. Way cool!

Work Work Work

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:20 pm by Think-Tink

Ahhh, as I pointed out yesterday, it is mid-July. This means work is going to get busier and busier until the middle of September. This is good in a way, as I would rather be busy than bored.

Weekend Wrapup

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:14 pm by Think-Tink

I was terribly lazy this weekend. Good intentions went out the door.

It was very satisfying to turn in my first afghan for the Women’s shelters.

French fries are good with cheese and green onions on them then either dipped in guacamole or sour cream.

2 oz of french fries is about 10. Did you know that is a serving?

Chocolate chip waffles are good with just butter spray on them.

I found someone decent to cut my hair! She asked questions and everything.

I bought more yarn. It was on sale and in really pretty colors!

GH suggested I use Tea Tree oil on a blister that burst. It took the pain away and made the skin heal very quickly.

I need lavender oil now.

I need to dust and do laundry.

There is something very satisfying about using ingredients that you grew. I harvested and used dill, chives and oregano this weekend. My parsley didn’t stand up to the heat.

I had energy until I sat down to write this.

Saputo’s Treasure Cave Feta Cheese is not good. It was way too dry and did not have any taste like a feta should.

Next Sunday will be a buffalo wings type thing I think.

July is half over. Where is the summer going?

Weekend Wrapup, late again

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:45 pm by Think-Tink

This heat is killing me.

The Farmer’s Market in Williamsburg is probably very good, but somehow buying cheese and meats that have been outside in 90 degree heat, even if it has been in coolers, just doesn’t appeal.

Fresh Markets rock!

SB makes good stuff. The soup with bay scallops (recipe on his blog) was awesome.

How do the 3 of us make so many dishes?

Dough Boys California Pizza Kitchen is good.

Walking on Atlantic and the Boardwalk at Virginia Beach is fun for people watching. So is the Norfolk Airport.

I finished my first charity afghan! The project that Coordinated Colors is doing is well worth my time. They are asking people to make afghans for the Women’s shelters in the area, recognizing the fact that alot of women and children go there with nothing. This gives everyone who comes through the door something they can take with them.

Monday? Thursday?

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:05 pm by Think-Tink

This was a weird day. Felt like Monday, but it is Thursday. We have 2 really short weeks this week. 2 Mondays and Fridays. SB and I weren’t sure if yesterday was a free day or not as we were off, and had to come to work today. Even weirder is that there was no traffic on the way home. Even going to back way, we were home in 30 minutes. A very impressive feat.

In other news, I am kind of melancholy as Witha has decided to stay home with her baby. I am truly going to miss her. I think I understand what synergy is now. We were very in tune with each other and even PHB was somewhat in it. I hope we get someone decent. I truly do understand the decision and admire her for taking that leap.

Weekend Wrapup, a little late

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:20 am by Think-Tink

Why do some people have something and it becomes a constant problem? I have had a cell phone for years and never had the problems some else has.

Banana chocolate chip muffins are good, and this recipe was low fat.

If you are in Norfolk, go to Bella Pizza Ghent. Really, really good food.

Walmart is a dangerous place. I always spend more than I intend to.

I didn’t work on my afghan at all this weekend.

Benadryl is good but makes me sleepy.
