Why are Chinese buffetts either really good or really bad?
Can you save me plastic bags from walmart and such? I am going to try to recycle them into grocery bags to keep in the car.
Don’t know what I ate this morning or last night but it is tearing me up!
I have absolutely no crafts projects in progress at the moment. TRuly weird. I guess I should start thinking about Christmas. I am looking for a pattern for a ruana though.
I took a nice long walk today. It was very refreshing.
My car passed inspection! Of course the dealer found $200 worth of stuff they recommended be done. Anyone ever have their brake fluid changed?

Why do we eat a salad course before we eat the Entree? SB and I were having whole wheat penne (much better than the whole wheat egg noddles), spaghetti sauce with meat, and salad tonight for dinner. SB starts eating his salad, I on the other hand decided that since the salad was already cold/room temperature, why not eat the hot stuff first? So I did. I will say that it made it seem like there was more in the bowl as the cup of penne and half cup of sauce didn’t take too long to eat.
I know if you are out the salad comes first I guess to tide people over until the entrees arrive. Maybe if the salad was eaten before dessert there wouldn’t be any room for it with the huge portion sizes that are being served now?

We started out the month with snow. April…Snow. Not normal for here. Then we fast forward 3 weeks and we have record heat. 90′s!! I thought I got PMS badly (it is no where near as bad as it was before Body for Life become my way of life.I don’t want the sweets and bread as much, but I still really want the salt.), but Mother Nature must be going through menopause or pregnant. In my laundry hamper right now is everything from sweatshirts to shorts. Weird.

Goodness, I can’t believe it is time for Celtic Mama to go home already. I know we all have enjoyed having her here.
Busch Gardens is less enjoyable when it is really crowded.
Frozen lemonade is awesome!
At some point I might need a bigger car. I do not have a car to transport 5 people comfortably.
Great Big Sea–Please don’t be scared of the part of Norfolk you were in! There are much much better parts and venues and I will take your laundry to do if needed. Please come back! I enjoyed the show soooo much!
Ahh to be less grown up and responsible to have been able to go see Great Big Sea in DC also.
Will the book, the Secret, change my life? Probably not, but it can help me to change how I see what I have now and realize I can do thing in my current situation to help change it.
Can I wear brown shoes with denim?
I have alot of birthday presents to get and no clue as to what to get for any of them, eeeekk!
I turn 39 a week from tomorrow. I am going to use actualization and believe that life begins at 39. I will make this year into what I want it to be.
How did I get such a bunch of clutter in here?
Where is my mp3 cap?
Why is gas almost $3 a gallon? It isn’t Summer yet.
Last week of classes for the Spring…Ahh a little bit of a reprieve in Summer.
My heart goes out to the Virginia Tech Nation. I know they will come through this stronger than ever.
Pink dogwoods are my favorites.

I am reading the secret by Rhonda Byrne. I know some other bloggers who think this is a of hooey, but it makes some sense to me. It is kind of a cross between paying it forward, karma, and self actualization. Basically the book says that if you ask and believe, anything can happen. Why do good businessmen do so well? Because they believe they can. Want to lose weight? Beleive in your self and act thinner and it will happen. Probably not immediately but it will happen.
I can see where if you think you are going to have a bad day, it will be a bad day because those are the “vibes” you attract. You expect things to go wrong so they will. Expect things to go right and they will.

The Great Big Sea concert Monday was amazing. I heard a favorites, the Chemical Worker and Captain Wedderburn for the first time in concert. One song in the first set, that had a chorus of Come along Come along or Come on Come on that I have no clue as to what it is.
The new song Walk on the Moon is amazing. I hope that one charts here in the US.
I really like the set up they are doing now as one part acoustic and one part more rock ish. I definitely got my aerobic exercise in the second set, I don’t think Blondie and I sat down at all.
Ordinary Day opened the second set and that very definitely set the tone for it. Old Black Rum, Helmethead and quite a few others had us needing springs in our shoes. I was kind of disappointed that we didn’t get the 80′s flashback that we normally get with Run Run runaway.
I at first, didn’t like the acoustic version of Sea of No Cares, but now, I love it.
You know, I come away from each of the b’ys shows feeling the same. Euphoric. Amazed at the talent I saw on stage…and if I smoked probably a cigarette….

My heart goes out to everyone at Virginia Tech. Something like that could happen at any campus. Id checks would not have stopped this villian as he was a senior, someone who was supposed to be on campus, for another few weeks at least. Locking down a campus is a logistics nightmare. At CHK, we have people who dont leave their offices for fire drills. The other thing is how do you get word to a constantly transient population? Loud speakers only work but so well. We have basically 2 different study bodies, a day one and a night one. Do you put something out in the media outlets so they can start to have a field day before you really know what is going on?
Hokie Nation you are in my heart and prayers…

I can not wait until tomorrow night! Great Big Sea will be in Norfolk! It will be weird not having to travel more than an hour to see them.
Celtic Mama’s visit is going really well. She was supposed to look at a house today.
Went to what is supposed to be one of the best crafters market on the East Coast. I saw stuff similar to what I make at was seemed to be very inflated prices. Just putting that is it Swarovozski Crystals does not give you the right to charge an arm and leg.
The student dinner was last night. For the first time ever, I left before dinner. I hope everything got cleaned up well. Catering really went out of their way for us.
I might have to wear something warmer than what I plan to the concert tomorrow.
I didn’t get my laundry done today as I had planned as I didn’t feel like taking whoever’s stuff in the dryer out.
My sinuses have hurt all day.

You know how some things make an impression on you? One of those things for me was the TV miniseries The Stand. I was about 200 pages ahead in the book of the series when it aired. SciFi channel ran all 4 parts today. I sat and watched about half of it. I did not realize all the talent that went into the making. Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, Ruby Dee, lots of other well knowns from then and then the author of the screen play and book was Stephen King. This miniseries is one I have always loved. I even asked someone a few weeks ago if this was out on DVD.

I had about 75 pages of a really good book to finish today (Innocent in Death by J. D. Robb aka Nora Roberts). Between work being a madhouse, getting out late, it taking forever to get home, exercising and then feeling sorry for PR who was asked and said yes to basically catering 2 weddings this weekend, it was 11pm before I finally found out how the heroine got the murderer to confess.
Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t like I didn’t try to read all day…those silly people at work expect me to actually work while there. I did read on the bike.
PR couldn’t find essential recipe items and so wound up finally making it home by 8. He is now getting ready to frost and decorate wedding cake #1. He figures he will be in bed about 2am. I played sous chef, chopping cutting and dicing things for him. He does remember I am a pretty decent cook in my own right on occasion.
So, my book is read, it can go back to GH tomorrow, on to something else. I have to decide how big to make Revog’s birthday present. Hmmm.
