Thursday Thoughts

Posted in Here at 11:51 pm by Think-Tink

Wow time is flying, there is only 1 more week of class meetings for the semester then exams and then the Fall semester is done.

Shredding chicken is a long tedious task.

Keep the Goddess Dawn in your prayers, her grandfather died this week.

Anime Man bought a new car!

Chocolate Pecan Pie bars are yummy and alot easier to make than I thought they would be.

Will we become one homogenized race at some point?

I know Mother Nature is going through the change right now, but please cold or warm, I don’t care which just stay one way for a while please.

Over zealous people are irritating.  I know you can check the online site to see if you have been admitted, BUT wait a few days for the packet I send out, not emailing and saying that you havent gotten anything and want to register right now.

There is a mountain of dishes to be put away.

Party on Saturday, maybe after that life can start to become a little more normal again.

Thoughts for a Friday

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:30 pm by Think-Tink

Turkey stupor is a bad thing.  I was a tired puppy by the time I got to Celtic Mama’s hotel last night.

How do you want to be with family but not at the same time?

How can stuffing/dressing recipes vary so widely and some are better to you than others?

Pecan pie is yummy.

Don’t do weird things to the turkey please.

I found decent parking spaces all day today!

K-Mart is not as good as it once was.  I really don’t see a need to go into one soon.  Who is open on Thankgiving Day, and doesn’t have most of the same sales as they do on Black Friday?  If we could have coordinated it, she could have saved 40% by waiting a day.

Happy Feet was a good movie for the whole family.  The soundtrack should be good.

Wal-Mart was the least crowded place I went today.

Kohl’s was insane.  One lady waited 2 hours in line to check out. We put our items down and decided no sale was worth that much time.

Bennigan’s was OUT of Death by Chocolate today!  How could they?

Payday needs to come sooner than the upcoming Friday.

Michael’s was awesome.  25% off your entire purchase was well worth the trip there.

My Bass shoes are comfy.  My feet didn’t start to hurt until around 3.

Why can’t I find the Mummer’s Carol by GBS in my library?

The Christmas MP3 Playlist is almost done.

Eeek!  The Christmas Party is a week from tomorrow.

Celtic Mama is in town!

Posted in Here at 11:48 pm by Think-Tink

Celtic Mama has been in town since Saturday.  That is the reason for no posts.  I have been staying with her at the hotel.

The Holiday Inn on Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach is very nice and even better the people are nice.  The rooms are clean and the cleaning people probably think we are psycho since I colored my hair one night and got their towel a little messy and then last night, we had a soda explode in the mini-fridge.  We cleaned it up but it was really interesting to see how it went EVERYWHERE.

We have not seen the sun for 2 days now and tomorrow isn’t looking so good either.  A terrible noreaster is coming through.  High winds and flooding, it is almost like a hurricane but from a different angle.

I am doing something tomorrow I havent done since I was married.  I am eating an important meal with Anime Man’s family.  I ate and cooked with my ex-husband’s family but have not been attached to anyone that I have gotten to this point since.  It is kind of weird.

Friday and Saturday are going to be fun!  Shopping will be done in abundance.  I might get a majority of my present shopping done.

Off to repack for the hotel tomorrow.

Eat lots of turkey!  REmember, everyone has something to be thankful for, even if it is something small.

Dear Mr. Blue Montego that almost caused 2 accidents today

I don’t care if your car was newer than mine or the people in front of me in the SUV.  You had no right to think that you could bully your way over going up the other lane and getting over at the last minutes when WE had been good and patient and waiting 20 minutes to turn.  The SUV didn’t let you go, but you did not give me choice, I tried not to let you over but you kept coming and my car’s and my well being let you have the spot.  I don’t care that you had a jacket hanging up and were probably in a rush.  If you hadn’t been so willing to hit me, I wouldn’t have let you over.

Thursday Thoughts

Go Emmitt!  I am so glad he won last night on Dancing with the Stars.

Change of seasons means lots of things to wash.

Some people are just wimps.  It got pushed off on me to tell certain people they weren’t getting paychecks.

I am becoming my mother.  She accumulates paper in piles, I accumulate stuff in piles.

Blondie picked up the nickname that one of my nieces calls Anime Man.  He is so sweet to not mind.

Sheratons have really comfy beds.  Alarms should be illegal when sleeping in a bed like that.

I need to think about cutting the roses back.

The watch I put together with beads is getting rave reviews.

Decisions, decisions, which book do I read first?

Vanilla ice cream is good with organic dark chocolate chips in it.

I need to go through and see exactly what I have bought for Christmas presents soon, so that I know what I still need to get.

I finally see, I think

Posted in Here at 10:28 pm by Think-Tink

I think I see why all these reality show are so popular.  They let you in on a little slice of life you wouldn’t know about otherwise.  Tonight’s show of choice, because there was NOTHING else on of interest was Making the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.  I figured it was hard work making it, but my goodness, gain a pound and it could mean being cut from the team.  I know I don’t have the dance skills, but even some with the skills couldn’t handle it.  All that work for a part time job.  Goodness.

Saturday Thoughts…yeah, just didn’t make it on Thursday

Posted in Here at 11:23 pm by Think-Tink

The democrats mostly won!  Welcome Ms. Speaker!

Should I be worried that I am one of the few people my boss does not have ANY sort of nickname for?

Why aren’t slippers acceptable wear for the office if my feet are under a desk most of the day?

Why do some people do more for those they aren’t closest to and then let the ones they are closest to get put at the bottom of the list?

What makes it time to end a relationship?

Why aren’t there medications to help pinched nerves?

Mongolian BBQ is good and healthy.

Why is Food Network using such scrawny turkeys this year?  Who has JUST 12 lb turkeys?  Celtic Mama’s always said if it wasn’t 20lbs, it wasn’t worth cooking as it just didn’t taste right.

I don’t need a dishwasher, just someone to put the suff away after it is dry.

Naps are good.

I am making Christmas crafts right now, i forgot how much fun it is.

One more day of the awful ads

Posted in Here at 10:26 pm by Think-Tink

If we make it through tomorrow, no more ads for a while.  If I hear a kid saying 96 one more time I am going to scream.  The Democrats made their point about Allen voting with Bush 96% of the time.  The women of the Naval Academy made their point but what did they expect being ground breakers?  Surprising little has been said about the marriage amendment in ads.  I hope Virginia is not stupid enough to vote in something so vague and having more repercusions than the politicos realize.  Worse than Allen and Webb has been a locate House race between Thelma Drake and Phil Kellam.  The Shenandoah Forester household has gotten at least 1 piece of mail from on campaign or the other every day for the past few weeks.

Then the Christmas ads can start!  At least it will be something different.

Word of the Day

Sheeple

If I read the context right it is people who just follow along with the rest of the herd and don’t think on their own.
