The madness begins

With August 1 tomorrow, all of the loonies will start to come out of hiding.  I hope my sanity will last.

Been a long time…

Posted in Here at 10:31 pm by Think-Tink

Since I have had a do nothing day.  Slept later than normal, read the paper and even biked.  I haven’t done that in a while.  Finished a book and took a nap.  I don’t know why I am so tired this week.  I bought some stuff to make more bookmarks out of.  I am hoping that CM will be able to sell them for me.  I think a starting price will be like $10 and then drop it down if they dont sell at that price.

I did realize that I need to start seriously thinking about Christmas presents.  I have a few, but no clue as to what to get some peoplel.  No clothing or gift certificates is my rule.  Clothing is a very personal decision for me, being that I can be anyhting from a 12-18 and then a style you like, might not be one for whoever.  Gift certicates are impersonal to me.  Not that I don’t appreciate getting them, I just don’t like giving them.  I always feel they are are present of last resort, UNLESS, it is what the person truly wants.  GH can go to a home improvement store like I can a craft store.  That is ok in that case to give a gift certificate.

You know, I stepped out to get the newspaper and that was it today.  I was going to take the trash out but PR beat me to it.  With it being so hot, I just did not see the need to go anywhere.

Mosquitopalooza

OK, more mosquitopalooza…

I was watvhing DG and GG last night. We had fun they are truly little fish. I did not swim last night as I didn’t feel like it. I should have…I have 10 mosquito bites on my right leg alone. There are others on the left leg and my arms. I have no clue as to what I can wear tomorrow not to irritate anything.

AM came over and ate pizza with us. He watched Grease 2 also. I have no clue why they tried to make another Grease…it definitely did not come up to the originals standards.

AM asked to come spend the night with him last night, and I was very tempted. I needed to make sure PR was ok after his first day truly out and I admit I am kind of paranoid. I snore. I am not really comfortable sleeping around other people. SB teases me that he can sometimes hear me through a closed door. I don’t want to mess up anyone’s sleep. It was really nice with AM over here the weekend before ( he is very comfy), but I don’t know if his sister would be ok with me sleeping over. For some reason I think she is uncomfortable around me.

The girls very very talkative last night and I kept telling AM that he has this to look forward to with his nieces. Overall it was a good night.

Thursday thoughts, only a little late…

Anime Man is very confy…

With all of the other medications in the world why isn’t there something to stop pregnancy sickness?  I feel so bad for Witha.
Water needs flavor. TrueLime is wonderful stuff.

Why do HoneyNut cheerios get soggy so quickly?

Why do people at work know when I have a mouth full of something and decide they HAVE to ask questions right then?

Why isn’t Who’s Line is it? still in production?

Quiet is a nice thing.

Munchies are not a nice thing.

Who turned up the thermometer outside? This is a request to please turn it down.

Noah’s Ark animals are adorable! Thanks Celtic Mama!

I got a compliment today!

I work around all these little skinny cute 18-22 year olds.  It makes me feel my age more than I want to admit.

One of the ladies who used to work for me as a student has now been hired as a faculty person.  We were talking about Anime Man and I was telling her that the age didn’t seem to make that much of a difference.  And she said it can’t be that much what 2 or 3 years?  I told her don’t i wish, being closer to 40 than 30.  Nice to know that I look 5 or so years younger than I am.

Yay!

It isn’t the war won but a major battle has been won.  Abraham Cherrix’s won the right to a new trial and also his parents got back full custody of him.  He also didn’t have to report for chemo yesterday.

The poor boy!

Posted in Interesting Websites at 9:31 pm by Think-Tink

Abraham Cherrix is being forced into doing chemo therapy that he and his family don’t want to do.  Somehow Child Protective Services and the courts are now involved in this boy’s medical care.  Someone probably tipped them off as a concerned citizen, but this is going a little far.  Are we looking at another Terry Schiavo situation here?

I could understand insisting that Mr. Cherrix go through chemo and radiation once.  BUT this would be the second time running that gauntlet for him.  It didn’t work the first time, how do the doctors (and courts with their medical expertise) know chemo will work this time?  My step-mother quit her chemotherapy when she was dealing with breast cancer.  I think she had 1 or 2 more times to go.  She told me that she just couldn’t do that to herself anymore.  It truly was a case of the cure being worse than the disease.

I thought that the POWERS THAT BE would have learned with Terry Schiavo that you can’t tell people what to do with their own health and such.  Also, it isn’t like the Cherrix’s  are not doing any type of treatments.  They are following a regimen from a place in Mexico.  What is wrong with homeopathic medicines?  I know that the Pharmaceutical companies want us to put more and more chemicals in our bodies, so they can make the millions they do each year.  I am of the opinion that I need to do more homeopathic remdies.  I think we have too many chemicals in our lives and want to get back to nature as it were.

I hope Mr. Cherrix fights the good fight and gets his choice in this matter.

What a nice weekend!

SB and PR had a great time on their trip, and Anime Man came over to keep me company.  I made him dinner last night.  It tasted great but didn’t get as thick as it should have.  It is just such habit to pick up the lower fat sour cream that I did not even think it wouldn’t make the beef stroganoff set up right.  It was more of a stoup consistency than a sauce.  We did have a good time though.

A side note: Congrats to Kiernan on his new job!

Thursday Thoughts

Posted in Here at 9:38 pm by Think-Tink

I want to whine!  I have had a sinus headache of some level for almost a week now.  I am TIRED of it.

Supposedly money coming from a certain account is money to be used for anything.  Why do I have to follow the rules for the “other” money accounts now?

Work has been weird, both Witha and PHB have been out this week.

If you are going to take the time to send me a letter with the name everyone calls me in it, make sure you spell it right (I know someone looked at as it was signed in blue in)  If you don’t know how to spell it, ASK.

I am glad Celtic Mama and the nieces has a good visit.

I am glad that Anime Man is in my life.  Wonder what he wants for dinner Saturday?

I need a better way to organize my closet.  I still need to clean out my bureau.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

It’s Tuesday but not doing the TT yet.

Posted in Here at 11:42 pm by Think-Tink

SB has the Tuesday Ten out over at his site but I need help with this one, so Anime Man is going to feed me the answers :)   So look for it later in the week.

I really couldnt ask for a better boyfriend than Anime Man.  He is wonderful.  It was so nice tonight to just sit and watch a movie with him tonight.

My nieces come back from visiting Celtic Mama tomorrow.  No driving until you stop crying CM!

More tomorrow…I am a tired puppy right now.
