My vacation, Part 1

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:53 pm by Think-Tink

Celtic Mama and I found each other at the airport last Wednesday and hugged and hugged. Even though we talk almost everyday at least a little nothing beats in person. We ate at Steak’n'Shake which I really hope is this far north soon.

Thursday, we went to a mall and I found a birthday present and a prairie skirt. It sure does take me back quite a ways to have another prairie skirt. I was thinking it was high school that I wore it, but I think it was even earlier than that. A truly scary thought. Amazingly enough, I found it at Sears. A place I used to never think of for clothes had some awesome stuff! GG and DG love the clothes from there. We got home right before a major storm hit. It even hailed! If my picture turned out, I will post it with this after I resize it. (probably tomorrow) I am so glad Celtic Mama parks in a garage. The hail could have done some damage!

Friday was disappointing for me, as I had planned on a lady at my great aunt’s hair place to cut my hair. She was thinking she would be there, but she had several teeth pulled earlier in the week and got very light headed and had to go home. When this lady cut my hair before, I got alot of compliments on it. From there, we grocery shopped, and were lazy.

The one very consistent thing about the whole week was the heat! It was around 90 the entire time I was there.

I must thank the Great Blue One for filling in for me. I did bring her and the guys back something they must share. A bunny cake pan :) Roxette did a wonderful job.

Miss me?

I am back, I had a wonderful time. It was way too short but I guess all good things must come to an end. Ate too much, spent too much, didn’t exercise as much as we should have. That is what vacations are for.

More tomorrow. Really tired right now. Celtic Mama decided for me to be the post office for her and bring back tons of stuff for everyone.

Hmm.

Heard from Tink and Celtic Mama this morning. They’re going to some outlet mall an hour away from their abode. If they have carrots, you’d better bring some back, ladies! (Offerings of clover are also accepted.)

PR’s running around dusting, and Silver Blue is getting ready to go outside and cut grass. The only good thing about that (the dust kicked up irritates my delicate pink nose) is that it causes the clover to grow back in more tender.

Much Bunny Love,

She’s Safe!

Tink made it safely to Celtic Mama’s. The house isn’t the same without her, but I know she’ll be back. Besides, with the mental state of some of the people around here, I think she’s probably better off down there. (The strawberries have given out, if you must know.)

OTher than that, the bears and everyone are keeping me hopping. Time to get back to the game at hand. We’re playing Life on the downstairs PC while PoloRandy is out and Silver Blue is occupied, and it’s my turn!

Much bunny love!

Trying to get this in before I go to bed…hat off to SB

1. What was the best birthday you can remember having?

18th. Bridge Lady made me a sign and stuck 2 flamingoes in my yard with real sand (it was the mountains and the clay for bricks comes from there). Awesome to find that on your lawn when you open the curtains in the morning

2. What is the best birthday present you’ve ever given?

Homemade gifts Flamingoes to Bridge Lady…scary how things snowball.

3. Received?

My freedom…my divorce become final a few days before I turned 30.

4. How will you be/did you celebrate your birthday this year?

Busch Gardens! Great Big Sea! A weekend of fun and friends all the way around.

5. Balloons, flowers or card?

Card

6. Do you mind it if you go to a restaurant and they sing/dance/yee-haw to you for your birthday?

It is a thrill to get the attention but I am better without it.

7. What was the WORST birthday experience you’ve ever had?

Ones where I was married went and picked out my own present and said this is what you gave this year.

8. Whom would you like to see in their “birthday” suit?

Hmmmm I don’t know if I would want to mystique blown…

9. Do you think that companies should grant you your birthday as a kind of “floating” holiday for you to take at some point during the year?

Yes. A majority of people take it off anyway and there are some companies that do give it as a floating holiday.

10. Ask me something.

Do we truly know when our mid-life will be? One side of my family died young and one side lived into their late 90′s and early 100′s.

All packed alarm is set

The alarm is set for some really awful time of the morning and SB’s dad is set to pick me up on his way to work. I have packed, with room left over but somehow, the suitcase is still heavy!!!

The Bunny has agreed to guest blog and I might pop in if I can figure out my password to make this work at Celtic Mama’s.

This is scary

The only thing I felt like watching tonight was hockey…senseless noise. But then I became interested. There might actually be some method to the madness and more to the game than just fights. Pretty interesting. I would love to sit with someone who can really explain it to me.

They keep going woosh!

The weekend went by me again with barely a moment to catch my breath. It was a great weekend though, had fun with SB and PR yesterday and at SB’s birthday lunch today. GG had a meet today and did really well considering we think she has a sinus infection or a really bad cold. Even better with her being all stuffed up she didn’t fall off the beam at all!

I need to do laundry tomorrow night or else, i will be taking dirty clothes to Celtic Mama. I am really sure she would appreciate that.

I think my biggest issue now is what shoes to bring since I dont want to bring them all. I need a pair of walking shoes, etc. hmmm OK, just remembered to charge the palm pilot. Now tomorrow to charge the x-clef.

I need to pack!

I haven’t even started to think about what I want to wear while at Celtic Mama’s. My Great Aunt is the type to get “dressed” she doesn’t do thing like I have on today, a polo shirt and capris. And heaven help a pair of sneakers show up. So I need to see if I can find a good mix between the t-shirts and such and the work clothes.

The Chesapeake Jubilee is here

That means it is time for a major thunderstorm to kick up from nowhere. I am sure there are events associated with terrible weather all over the country. For us, the Circus coming in March means snow or Noreaster, and then in May the Jubilee means thunderstorms. Basically the Jubilee is just a carnival with concerts and such. What fun!
