1. Do you celebrate Mardi Gras? How?

No, I have never really celebrated Mardi Gras.

2. What about Ash Wednesday?

No, as a good Southern Baptist we didn’t do those “Catholic” things. My grandmother did and I remember her getting ashes.

3. What does the season of Lent mean to you?

Not really anything, see #2

4. Do you find it ironic that there is a final night of “debauchery” before the 40 solem days leading up to the Christan celebration of Easter?

Yes, definitely.

5. What would YOU do for a Klondike bar?

Right now, go to the Food Lion, pay the $3.0? and get one free too!

6. How ’bout some Mardi Gras beads?

Don’t need’em I make my own necklaces that are much prettier.

7. Has 2006 proved to be better or worse for you than you anticipated on New Year’s eve?

I really didn’t set my expectations high, a few lifestyle changes I want to make, but so far so good.

8. What’s your favourite food to overindulge on, if you were not going to be able to have it for 40 days?

I couldn’t go 40 days without chocolate. Soo, I could try pasta to give up.

9. Have you ever had a “King Cake”?

Nope.

10. Ask me something

When do we get the Queen’s cake? and what colors is it?

What am I going to do now?

Posted in Here at 11:16 pm by Think-Tink

Dancing with the Stars is over. No more regular season basketball. Ick. After the NCAA tournaments, there will be nothing on tv. I guess I could go somewhere to excercise, but why do that when I have the things I need and want right here?

I finished the memory board today. It looks pretty good. I think I uploaded a picture, I am not sure…

Making a new craft is just like making a recipe

You should check to make sure you have everything you need first. I am making Gym Girl a memory board. I thought I had everything needed. I did, but didn’t realize I was out of sticks for my glue gun. So now what I was hoping to have done today will have to wait until I can go get the sticks.

Thursday Thoughts

Posted in Here at 5:56 pm by Think-Tink

I am still alive, really! These weather changes are kicking my butt. STILL!

Paula Deen is my hero! Anyone who can make a Krispy Kreme even better is a winner in my book. I just watched Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding be made.

Celtic Mama needs a visit from the tooth fairy. The mean old dentist had to pull one of her teeth.

Coldwater Creek rocks! I bought a dress from their outlet and it fits and I think it looks great. Verification will happen tonight when housemates get home.

Why is it that people who have drug their feet for years, get upset when classes aren’t offered when they want them?

Why is gas $.10 cheaper in South Hampton Roads than here on the Peninsula?

What color shoes go with teal?

What am I going to watch after tonight? Dancing with the Stars is over.

Not alot happening this week. Trying to get better…

Finished my scarf…

Posted in Here at 10:15 pm by Think-Tink

For a Sunday that I didn’t have alot planned for, it sure was busy. I did get up late, but it seems I was doing something until well after dinner. I made an awesome breakfast this morning, cinnamon rolls (the whomp biscuit kind), eggs and bacon. I got the 25% less salt and I really couldn’t tell it. (oops SB wasn’t supposed to find that out). By the time I got through eat and cleaning up, SB wanted to go to BJ’s for somethings. We got an awesome port roast for dinner.

I did do more than just eat today, I finished a scarf to go with the hat I crocheted. I also worked out and did 3 loads of laundry, including my sheets on the bed. No wonder I am tired!

If they were female, they would be called teases

Posted in Weather at 10:24 pm by Think-Tink

The weatherpeople around here are irritating. They are quite the tease. Oh we are going to get some snow this weekend…and now all of the sudden, nope nothing on the ground at could even be called white. ERRRRGGGGGGG

Type A personalities

As most of you know, I work with Master’s degree students. These people are very driven and sometimes very serious. We were at a mixed alumni/student event today that went ok. We got into the basketball game and one student just had to figure out how something was done in a formula. I turned around and told him to relax and have some fun.

Thoughts for a Friday

Posted in Here at 1:05 am by Think-Tink

I know…a day late…but last night after taking a benadryl, my only thought was ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I didn’t even get to see Drew and Cheryl’s 2nd dance on “Dancing with the Stars”

Why do the people who don’t care think they are in charge and dont listen to the people who actually know what is going on and what SHOULD happen.

I am glad I am not a coach of a sports team. After a blow out, I don’t think I could still find things wrong.

How does a 10 year old have a possible ulcer? Do we have that many chemicals in our foods these days?

Come on snow!!

It’s February, time to think about making some changes.

Why wontt my closet clean itself?

Why won’t my laundry do itself?

Key lime cheesecake here I come!

Why did they pick white for tomorrow for the game on tv?

It’s midnight and I am more awake than I was an hour ago.

Why is Revog being mean and not sending me any of her goodies she is baking?

For those who don’t follow basketball, there was a high girl who’s coach let her rack up 113 point in ONE game. An ESPN commentator had this to say on it.

How a coach could let this happen I don’t know. Where was the sportsmanship?
