Bowling

Posted in Family at 9:12 pm by Think-Tink

Gym Rat’s birthday is Tuesday, and she celebrates the very important 10th one. Since her parents are g0ing to be out that night, Gym Mom, Gym Rat and I went bumperbowling today. I did not know that there were bumpers that could be put up to keep your ball out of the gutter. Gym Rat asked for it, but it helped me and Gym Mom more than her. If it weren’t for the bumpers, I might not have had a score above 50. The important thing was that we all had fun.

We went to lunch at the McD’s at Birchwood. They had gotten alot better for a while, but they were truly awful today. One poor man had waited over 20 minutes for his plain double cheeseburger as he saw 2 go out through the drive through. It only took us about 10 minutes to get our food. I keep wondering what happend to the fast part of fast food.

Thursday Thoughts

Are the dish fairies at your house? They left mine and now out of no where dishes appear in the sink and don’t do themselves.

Ever had sensory overload? I think I am going through that this week. I get to a point by the time I get home that even the tv hurts my ears.

Why is the bank not happy just holding my money? They are out to take it all from me. Privacy Guards, life insurance, round it ups and more. PLEASE tell me about these things once and then I will decide. If you keep sending them over and over, I will not do a thing with it.

My dad makes a nice frame. Revog’s print looks nice in it. It only took me 2-3 years to get it framed and up. That is better than my Bachelor’s diploma, which I am not sure I can even find right now.

Blue cheese for it’s tang…I am settling right now for low fat Italian

6. A1, Heinz 57, Worcestershire Sauce or what for your steak?

7. Gravy or Cheese on/in your mashed potatoes?

depends on the setting…Thanksgiving is definitely a gravy time. Cheesy mashed potatoes go with almost anything

8. Cubed ice, crushed ice, or no ice in your beverage?

Cubed, it doesnt melt as fast

9. Do you prefer to drink out of plastic or glass, with or without a straw?

Plastic doesn’t break as easily and with a straw.

10. Ask me something.

is it good intentions for leftovers that have you making the big pots of stuff that doesnt get eaten or did you just learn to cook only in big quantities?

Since when did Wicca and Pagan Religions become New Age rather than Religion?

Posted in Here at 10:14 pm by Think-Tink

I have been in 2 different chain bookstores recently and in both non-traditional religions, such as shamanism, paganisn and the like are in the NEW AGE section rather than Religion section with the Islam, Hinduism, Judiaism and of course Christianity. I would just like to know what brought about the change. Pagan Religions used to be with the others. I wonder if some high and mighty person got their senses offended.

Anyone have any insight?

I hope I never get like this…

One of the people we went out with Saturday night I guess had a problem with me. I don’t know if was because I was female, straight or what. I would talk directly to him and his partner and only his partner would respond. Everyone else was fine with me being there. I like to think I give all people a chance before I decide I don’t like them.

This person was also very persnickety. Everything had to be just so. I guess I didn’t meet his standards of so-ness.

We haven’t seen the sun in almost 3 days. It is quite wearing. I know I work in an office with no windows, but to not have the sun to look forward to is rather depressing.

I think I could handle this better if the temperature would even out and be cold or warmish. This warmish one day and cold the next is for the birds.

Great Place for dinner and a good movie

Posted in Here at 10:13 am by Think-Tink

Sb, PR, and I, along with some of their friends went out for dinner and a movie. Dinner was excellent. We went to Bravo’s in Town Center Va. Beach. I have never had chicken Marsala that wasn’t breaded. It kind of took me by surprise, but it was excellent. The tuscan mashed potatoes were good as well. Finally someone who puts enough garlic in them so you can actually taste it! The variety of salads that came with my dinner was good too. I chose the chopped salad and it was a nice mix of veggies and romaine lettuce, not like some places where you get a hunk of lettuce and a cucumber, tomoato and green pepper slice. The creme brulee looked good but I was too stuffed to consider it.

Last Holiday is truly a family movie. No cussing, no sex, just fun. You have the villian, the heroine, her love interest, and the various people around them. The love interest does go into the realm of unbelieveable, but hey, it’s a movie. Basically, the upshot is to follow your dreams and to live life rather than being scared. Something I know I need to do more of…

It was a fun night with a mostly great group of people.

Thursday Thoughts on a Thursday Even!

Posted in Here at 10:55 pm by Think-Tink

Why can traffic be so darn weird? It took SB an hour to make it about 2 miles.

Why do men think something like an injury shouldn’t slow them down? PR is trying to do too much with his arm in a sling and taking muscle relaxers. Or better yet, go to the doctor at all? Piper Boy is having apparently mmajor nose bleeds and doesnt want to go to sick call for them.

Why can’t anyone read a sign anymore? We had a major weirdo come in asking for a staple even though the sign on the door clearly says we don’t provide them.

Why is it that when wearing shoes made for walking I am sitting all day and when wearing shoes not especially made for walking I am walking all day?

I almost wish I wore a uniform to work. Then I wouldn’t have to make sure shoes, colors and such went together.

Who said this was a short week? Feels like it has been really long to me.

In the name of excercise…

Posted in Here at 10:48 pm by Think-Tink

PR has a torn ligament and a cracked bone in his writing arm. How did he do this? Playing racquetball. I can understand getting into the game…but considering this is the second major injury he has had from playing, I think it time for him to think about another non-contact with anything sport.
