Thoughts for a New Year…

Posted in Here at 9:16 pm by Think-Tink

This year passed by so quickly. It is no wonder that the years start to blur together. I didn’t realize it had been 5 years since one grandmother died and 11 since the other died.

I hope I never get to a point where I am ready to die. I want to be like my adopted great-grandmother and go out in my way.

Goodness I left a mess in my room before I left for Celtic Mama’s. Looking at her area, I know where I get it from : )

2005 was a year of true recovery for me from alot of things. I feel now that you need that recovery before you can move ahead. 2006 should be a good year.

Does having children around keep you young? I certainly think so. Looking at the aunt that Celtic Mama lives with and then another that lives with her husband and is very involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, I see quite a difference.

I truly hope that 2006 is a wonderful year for everyone!

I’m baccckkkk!

First of thanks to Ms. Bunny for helping me out.

Celtic Mama and I had a great time together. Great Aunt is in that stage where she is waiting to die. The mind is ready but the body isn’t.

I will post more later, but just wanted to say the air is still safe as I am home :)

Zooming Around The House

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:59 am by Roxette Bunny

Roxette Bunny™ here, filling in for Tink.

The Christmas season happens to be one of my favorite, as I have a magical sleigh that I get to fly all over the house. Of course, I parked a little too close to the drapes in one room and kinda dislodged the curtains. Not a good thing!

Tink’s called us a couple times and is having a most wonderful time with Celtic Mama, and for that we are all grateful. It’s important to have a joyous holiday season, and from the messages I’ve been getting, I’d say she certianly is having one. :-)

Well, PR and SB are both sort of under the weather, so let me zoom away and make some herbal tea.

Much bunny love….

…to be asked to fill in for the Fabulous Tink.

Roxette Bunny™ here, and between flying around the house in my magical Christmas sleigh, I think I should be able to find time to post every now and then.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Much Bunny Love,

Family and more family

Today was great! All but 2 out of 11 cousins were at my aunt’s. This means that there were all 6 (plus spouses) of my fathers generation, 9 (plus spouses) of mine, and 14 of the next generation(not old enough to have spouses, ages ranged from 4 months to 17). We ate too much, we sang and my dad and another aunt didn’t say anything mean to each other. Did they kiss and make up…no.

Uneventful trip up and back, got some neat wine at Horton Vineyard. REasonably priced and very good.

I am off to Altanta tomorrow. I am asking the Bunny herself to fill in. I might be able to write some but Celtic Mama sounds like she has us going every minute of the day.

Thursday Thoughts

Posted in Here at 8:45 am by Think-Tink

In this day and age why is visiting someone 2.5 hours away take such planning? It can be done in a day if needed.

Why do I feel like I am forgetting something in my packing for Celtic Mama’s?

Please no snow or Rain on Christmas…I really dont want to fly in turbulence.

I think the gas companies should give us a Christmas present…since they have had record profits, why not drop the gas prices to $1.00 this holiday season.

I find it interesting that basically the event that Christians incorporated into Christmas is basically forgotten about. Winter Solstice uses candles, trees, and mistletoe. It doesnt even get incorporated into the smushed up words that are now being created for Christmas Hannukah. Kwanzaa etc.

I am truly greatful for the people who will be working on Christmas.

Tuesday 10 time (ok so it’s Wednesday)

1. What’s the most frustrating thing about the holiday season for you?

Balancing family, friends and others.

2. What was the one gift you wanted to buy but were unable to this year?

Honestly, I really can’t say. I would have gotten my neices something nicer if I could have afforded it.

3. Turkey, Ham, Lamb, Veal, Lasagna, Beef, or Tofu for the holidays?

No Turkey, definitely Lasagna (not veggie or tofu!)!

4. If you were able to go back and say something this holiday season to someone you’re no longer close to, what would it be and why?

I don’t know if it would be saying something or not, but I would like to see my ex husband and let go of that time so it can be put away.

5. What holiday movie puts you in the spirit more than any other?

Holiday Inn or White Christmas

6. Are you more of an E. Scrooge (before the visits of the 3 spirits) or more of a B. Cratchett?

Bob all the way!!

7. Are you content with yourself this holiday season?

Yes I am.

8. Are you really dreaming of a white Christmas?

Please No! It would screw up my travel plans.

9. If you decorate for Christmas, when does the tree go up? And when must it be down by?

Down for my family was usually New Year’s Day. Up was after Thanksgiving

10. Ask me something.

Why are you so warm all the time?

Once a child always a child…

I am 37 years old and the other day Celtic Mama gave me the dreaded answer every kid hates to hear….BECAUSE. Nothing after it just because. This was something simple…and in this case I could accept because as an answer. Weird how some things in relationships never change.

New Favorite Store

TRader Joe’s has FINALLY come to Newport News. I am very excited about this. I will be eating more organic and wheat products now. I spent $30 and got alot of stuff, even some organic fruit roll up type things for the girls.

I found all types of things to experiment with. The mushroom risotto I bought for lunches this week is good. It doesnt have enough garlic for my taste though.

I bought olive oil and some other things. I grossed as SB as I had to get the salmon jerky they had, just to try it out of curiosity.

This is going to be alot of fun…

BRRRR!

I am one of the few people working this week (or part) at CHK. I think the powers that be decided to turn the heat off. It was Freezing today. PHB who is never cold, was cold today. Painful as it was, the worse part is I was basically done with my work by about 11.

I truly wonder what some people think. I am having alot of cases of an emergency on your part doesnt mean there is one on my part.
