There was a ton of stuff for me to do today. It wasn’t extremely bad, because of the week I was gone, CHK was closed for 2.5 days.
Work was a little calmer than the homestead has been. There is a party coming up on Saturday and we are way behind the curve this year. Normally the Christmas tree is up in Mid-November. It went up yesterday. Some good was bought tonight, so cooking was started.
There won’t be much time to do anything this week. I will have to seriously ystart biking again next week.

I saw how much my one way ticket cost yesterday on Delta. Why are the airlines saying there are problems? Furthermore, of course the plane are going to be empty if they charge a month out someone to fly from CA to Va $800.
Why do turkey breasts cost so much more than the whole turkey per pound?
Why don’t airlines just delay in half hour increments? 5 and 10 minutes at a time and “Oh. we will start boarding any minute” means no food or bathroom.
How can clothes that are light individually be so heavy all together? Ok, 3 bottles of wine and 3 hardback books might have had SOMETHING to do with it.
When someone asks about a party you haven’t invited them to, what do you do?
Where are the brownies to help clean and get this place in order for the party?

Seems like just yesterday I was getting on a plane to go to Rochester to see Revog. We had a great week! We experimented with recipes, initiated her newly remodeled kitchen, shopped for presents and sewed.
Thanks to Revog’s major major help, I now have a new bedspread. It is really pretty and now I know I am a grown up. It is partially WHITE! I am going to be so worried about getting something on it.
My Christmas shopping is basically done. I have 1 thing to make and 2 to still figure out what to get.
Did you all miss me?
Thursday thoughts will probably appear sometime tomorrow. Turkey coma didn’t allow me to commit anything to paper or computer.

Gym Rat might be getting back on the floor soon. I think she missed competeing today more than she would like to admit.

OK, everything but the clothes is thrown at the edge of my bed. This is if there is any room for clothes. I have alot of “stuff” to take up.
It’s 8am guess I should get moving. Crash has her first semi real meet today. She got nervous in front of people last time.

Why does it take longer to pack than to unpack?
Yes I do realize I am only going for a week.
Why do people decide that 4:59 is the correct time to call an office?
If the work environment is not quiet, why do college students taking makeups get complete quiet?
Please let gas prices stay under $2
Clothes should shrink when you shrink and expand when you expand.
Something can only retain heat so much.
Why can you be caught up and then have 50 million things hit the day before you for vacation?

1. How do you like your eggs prepared?
Over medium, with some type of bread and bacon!
2. You see a spider sitting on your pillow as you start to fall asleep. What do you do?
Try to kill it myself or scream for someone to come in and kill it for me.
3. If you were going to enter a sand sculpture contest on a beach, what would your sculpture be?
A true castle with dragons and knights.
4. Do you subscribe to any magazines? Which ones?
Kraft Food and Family, AAA, Geico, and ODU ALumni. They are all more of I am doing one thing so they send me a magazine type thing.
5. Do you have more male or female friends?
Interesting question. I think at the moment, I am about even friend wise.
6. When is the last time you stopped to smell the flowers?
This morning. The Peace rose is blooming again. The roses love this weather, almost every rose in the front yard is blooming.
7. Are you usually early, late or on-time to events?
Early or on-time. I have a 15 minute rule. Don’t call me or come in 15 minutes, and I leave.
8. If you were guaranteed honest answers to three questions, who would you question and what would you ask?
Are the suicide bombers that are promised 52 virgins getting virgin or Virginians? If the same people go to and from work each weekday, how are there days the HRBT is not backed up? Am I being too picky?
9. You’re in a room full of celebrities. Would you rather be the best-looking person in the room, or the smartest?
Smartest. Beauty comes with certain expectations and assumptions. Smartness lets you lead your own path.
10. Ask me a question.

How can I tell? I was actually in the mood to be in the kitchen today. I had a recipe to play with and one to make. (Thanks SB for the small scooper thing! It made rum balls ALOT easier to make). Rum balls have become a tradiition at the Christmas Party since my friends in Puerto Rico gave me the recipe and the Anejo rum to go with it. If anyone is ever going to an island that has Anejo rum, please let me know! The rum balls are good but even better with the Anejo rum. The rum balls had to be made this weekend, as there isn’t another weekend before the party to do it and they need to set and meld for a while. I might sprinkle some more rum over them before I leave next week.
I also played with something I had seen on tv and wanted to try. Peppermint bark. It is incredibly easy to make and costs no where near what the stores are charging for the pretty packaging. Basically, you crush candy canes or starbright mints, and put them over white chocolate that has been melted. No, you don’t need a double boiler for this, microwaves are wonderful things. I had less white chocolate than I thought so I layers some milk chocolate over the peppermint. PR says it was ok. Next time thicker layer of white chocolate amd might see if cherry lifesavers or something like that works as well. I am really enjoying dipping the pretzels and doing things like this. It is alot of fun.
Revog and I are going to initate her kitchen next week. She likes to experiment as much as I do. She has some caramel corn recipes to try.
