Go or stay?

Posted in Job at 9:00 pm by Think-Tink

Since my interview last week (no I haven’t heard anything yet), I have been doing alot of thinking about if I really want to leave CHK or not. Alot will depend on the offer, of course, and if CHK can match it. SilverBlue says that bottom line is THE only factor. Anymore, I am not so sure. I have a really good boss in BB. If her hands get untied by the budget and PHB, she will really make the program into something everyone can be proud of. There is a lot positive and negative about staying at CHK. I guess it isn’t a decision that has to be made today, but it is something to think about.

Storms rolling through

I always love to watch the storms come through the area. A quick storm came through the area lasting not more than half an hour.

The plants got a good soaking and so did everything else.

Tonight I had dinner with SilverBlue and Punchbuggy. We had steak, shrimp and hot dogs. It was all very good and grilled. SilverBlue and I like our hotdogs the same way, nice and black skinned. The only thing we forgot was the dessert of fudge that was in the fridge.

We talked, ate and talked some more while trying to keep warm in the pool. Lots of fun.

Please keep SilverBlue and family in your thoughts.

SilverBlue’s grandmother is getting closer and closer to a better place. Her health has been failing for about a week, but now her internal systems are shutting down. It sounds as her kidneys and other things are failing. I hope she finds peace and so can her family.

I love the song live but it is amazing on the album

SilverBlue found me a copy of Turn by Great Big Sea at a thrift store a few weeks ago. I was excited because GBS is Canadian and their stuff is considered imports and costs more in the US. I have just now had a chance to listen to the whole album/cd (cd’s are going to be albums to me always, call me old fashioned). There are several songs on the cd that I like but Feel It Turn is one that I first heard off the live album Road Rage and it hit a nerve then. To hear the studio version of Feel It Turn, it not only hits the nerve but reaches down into your heart and grabs at your soul. This is an incredibly talented group of musicians. If you have a chance, listen to some Great Big Sea’s music.

People going here there and everywhere

Blondie is moving to Fla. I am going to help and in thanks she is taking me to see Mickey! I am very excited.

Celtic Mama is still in Alabama. My uncle is doing better but getting very lonely after almost a month in the hospital. Apparently he is feeling good enough to have my aunt on the phone constantly. This is kind of funny in a way considering that they spend time in different rooms in the evening because my uncle doesn’t like the tv.

I got a brochure for the Renaissance Festival that Revog (yes she is still alive but taking a break from blogging at the moment) and I are thinking going to near Toronto in mid-August today. Looks good and is cheap! The 2 of us can get entry for what it costs one of us here in the US.

I am going to have to think of some meals next week. SilverBlue and PoloRandy leave on Sunday for Fla. themselves. I hope they have a ton of fun.

I thought I would post a quiz in his honor…(found on the CheeseMistress’ site)
Another cool note about this quiz it the person who made it up is a Great Big Sea Fan. Most of the Lyrics from the lyric question come from their music.

Take the quiz: “Which Random Irish Gaelic Phrase Are You? “

Ta me bitseach mealltach
Ta me bitseach mealltach – ‘I’m a sexy bitch.’You’re hot stuff, or at least you think you are. You can usually be found in front of a mirror or shopping for the latest fashions so you can be the hottest thing to walk into the club tonight. Now, if only you could find a date…

This isn’t me at all!! Ok, the date part is….

Kind of food related…Try this!

I love scrambled eggs and cheese for brunch on Sundays. I had it today. The thing I don’t like is trying to get the cheesy eggy mess off the pan and spatula when washing the dishes. I was sent some free samples of Dawn dish cloths with the soap already in them and disposable. These worked really well and better yet, rather than having to fight to get the cheese and eggs of the sponge or cloth, you don’t have to worry about it and just throw the thing away.

Not alot happening

Did some errands and such, watched it rain for most of the day. I set my Oregano (which needs help desperately), basil and chive out to get a natural drink today. My oregano seems to dry out very quickly. I am going to have to water it more. Or maybe it just doesnt need as much sun as the basil does. The basil, that only one plant came up from all of my seeds is doing good. I wasn’t sure it was going to make it there for a while. I think some of the basil is going with my salmon tomorrow.

The wonders of Modern life

Celtic Mama is still in Alabama. Gym Mom and I don’t have alot of chance to talk usually since she usually is running somewhere to pick up or drop off someone. This morning we all happened to be online at the same time and all use AIM. I set up a chat so we could all talk rather than going back and forth. That worked really well. As long as Celtic Mama is in Alabama, I might suggest making a regular thing of the chats. Saves on phone bills and forgetting the time difference.
