My Dad likes to work with wood and make things. In fact, between his woodworking and my stepmother’s quilting they decided to build a “garage”. This garage is 2 stories, and supposedly fits 2 cars. My Dad has taken where his truck would go and make it into a wooodworking/manly man’s area. When moving everything over from where the lawn mover was, he found tools that he didn’t know he had. The 2nd story is where my stepmother does her crafts.
OK, why the background is because my Dad gave me a table made out of cherry and end pieces he had saved (I seem to get my pack rat-ness from both sides of the family). The cherry wood is very special, as it came from a tree in my grandmother’s backyard. The cherry trees in her yard made a great place to play hide and seek, find shade and lots of other things for my cousins, sister and I. I very fondly remember picnics held under those trees. I remember the old crank cherry pitter that was used to pit the cherries when they were ripe. Unfortunatly, the trees got some type of tree disease and needed to be cut down, leaving my grandmother’s (now my uncle’s) yard treeless. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. I will have to ask SilverBlue to post a picture for me so that you all can see the wonderful workmanship and beautiful wood. This is one piece that I truly will treasure.

There are not many things prettier than Central Virginia in the Spring. The flowers are brilliant colors, the mountains are the “purple mountains majesty” in the background.
At my Dad’s, time seems to slow down for me. It is nice to know that I don’t usually HAVE to be anywhere. Of course there are people to visit but they understand if I can’t get there (most of the time). I basically jsut sat yesterday. It was rainy, so I didn’t do anything but read. It has been a while since that happened. Today it was nice to just sit and talk to family, and not rush it. Yes, it did mean I didn’t get to see a high school friend, but she and I will be meeting up later this summer.
44 miles to the gallon helped alot also. Gas for once was cheaper up there than down here.

PoloRandy and Silver Blue have been moving stuff around here… glad Tink’s not around. She gets nervous with all the crystal and blue & white porcelain.
Other than that, not too much to report today. Mother Nature gave us some rain, but no light shows that I’m so fond of.
Guess Tink’ll be back for her usual entry tomorrow, so, it’s been great seeing you all here, don’t forget to leave a tip in the jar (or at least a comment in the box).

I guess that the carrots I snuck in her bag helped give her the energy to drive so far. Either that, or the soda she said she was going to get at Wawa. (I hear they have new flavored syrups, like Raspberry, Vanilla, Lemon, and Chocolate(?!!)).
Anyway, I’m sure it will be good for Tink to see her papa, and she’ll be back on Monday.
Hop at you later,

Hello everyone, Roxette Bunny™ here. Tink’s tucked safely in bed, so I thought I’d get a few words in.

I am going to my Dad’s this weekend. I am trying not to take alot, but the weather is going to be right around that point of needing pants, not needing pants. I am basically taking a little bit of everything. I am not taking any crochet to do this time for some reason. I guess I could, hmmm.
The coolest thing I have asked to do this time around is go to the cemetary where about 5 generations of my ancestors are buried. I am going to get digital pictures of them. This way, I can have some type of record as my father’s generation gets older and passes on. I know this is kind of weird, but cemetaries interest me. I like reading epitaphs for what they say or don’t say.
Roxette Bunny is going to be my guest blogger this weekend. I will be out in the country visiting some of her common relatives.

I left work early since I had put in some overtime this week. At 3>30 there was already a 8.5 mile back up at the HRBT. I decided to go around to the MidTown Tunnel. I made it home about 4:15. After doing some chores, I laid down on the couch. This was around 5:30. Next think I know, SilverBlue and PoloRandy are coming through the door and it is 7. I should sleep tonight as I am that tired. It truly has been a long week for me.

I was on the computer for quite a while last night but forgot to say anything here last night. I got really distracted by trying to put together a mp3 cd for my car this weekend, to test out the thingy that SilverBlue got me for my birthday. It is supposed to let mp3 players send to a radio frequency so you can play them in the car. I am going to Orange this weekend, so I thought this would be a good time to test things out. It didn’t help that SB gave me all these 80′s songs so I had a hard time deciding what to put on this cd even though I could put over 100 songs on it. Eclectic is the only word I can think of for it. I have Celtic, and then everything from Disco Duck and Convoy to Kylie Minogue and Lady Marmalade to Use it up and Wear it out. SB has really broadened my musical tastes.

I seem to be attracting worry stones at the moment. I bought a rose quartz and a fluorite in DC with Revog and all. The crystals are separated and one stays at home and one stays at work. I seem to pick them up more than I think.
I got some pennies yesterday and one of them was very unusual. I seem to not be the first to use this penny as a worry stone. First off, this is one with the wheat on it so it is pretty old. From there, the heads side is worn almost smooth. It just feels good to keep in my hand and rub. It is pretty neat.

I can’t tell you how glad I will be when this week is over. Work is a nightmare, Celtic Mama needs good healing thoughts as she has either pulled a muscle near her ribs or broken a rib, and I just seem to be falling apart.
I was looking for something to snack on tonight and found a dark chocolate bar hiding in the freezer. SilverBlue thought I was losing it as I was whacking my frozen goodness against the counter to break it up. I can’t tell you how good that dark chocolate tasted tonight. Of course, the whacking was good for getting out frustrations.
