Last night…

Posted in My Bands at 10:02 pm by Think-Tink

Was wonderful. We had a trouble free ride up to Richmond. Dinner was much better than I was expecting for “bar food”, when SB can’t finish a plate of nachos and it saying how good it is, it’s good. My chicken caesar wrap was good too. The onion rings were awesome. REal homemade, batter dipped, onions fried to a lovely golden brown. The spicy ranch sauce made them even better.

After a wait to get up to the stage area, the opening act came on. he was good. I was too busy looking for people I know to really pay attention, what I did hear was good.

7N came on and it was great. The guys are doing a new line up of songs, with just the right mix of old and new. I was disappointed that they didn’t play my favorite though, “Our Day Will Come”. Before you go huh?, get the Motown version that had “Our day will come and we’ll have everything” as lyrics out of your head. This song completely blows that one out of the water. It was nice to hear “Big Yellow Bus”, and they did “Big Dog” as an encore.

It happened again!

I fidn a product that works, and boom! someting happens to make it be taken off the market. The Dollar TRee Stores in this area USED to carry something called Mean Green. This was a multi-task cleaner. I used it for everything, cleaning the stove top, bathroom, and even to remove stains from clothes. It worked really well. Well, today, I wander in to Dollar Tree to get more of this wonder cleaner and they are out. Apparently, the company is having problems with the manufacturer. I go into Food Lion whihc also carried it and they don’t even have a place on the shelf for it anymore.

Anyone got suggestions as to what I can use to get grease, blood, and other stains out of clothes that WORKS?

Errrgggg…..

It’s 2am, just got home had a WONDERFUL time

I went to Richmond to see 7 Nations tonight. They had more energy and stage presence than I have seen in a while. It was great. There was a bittersweet note to everything though, it was the last time I will get to see one of the people that I met through the 7N and Great Big Sea message boards. She is moving with her husband who is military to Germany in about 2 weeks. I am sad to see her go, but hope she can get back here on occasion.

OK, time to get some sleep.

Sometimes you are reminded…

Posted in There at 9:25 pm by Think-Tink

that there are greater and more powerful things in the world than you.

I took a really long way home tonight. It probably didn’t take me any longer than if I had gone all interstate. I had to drop SB off for his hair cut in Va. Beach. I decided to get gas at the WaWa (their gas seems to last longer in my car) on Pleasure House Rd. in Va. Beach. It was kind of more on my way back to 64 than going to Rosemont Rd. or Lynnhaven. I followed Shore Drive around to 4th View and 64.

First off, Norfolk has done a great job on cleaning up Ocean View. I thought I was in the nicer section before I actually was with all of the new construction in the area. The Ocean Park area looks great!

From there, as I was getting onto 64, the sun had set, but left a glow against the clouds. The many colors of pink mixed with some purples, twinkling of the first lights at twilight, and darkness was amazing. It truly did look like someone took a paint brush and was using the sky as their canvas.

It was a nice reminder, that no matter who you pray to, they are still out there.

Friday Five…from last week

Posted in Round the Blogosphere at 11:08 pm by Think-Tink

OK, I realize this is a week behind. Hopefully I will be a little more prompt with tomorrow’s.

When was the last time you…

1. …went to the doctor?

Last thursday, as my blood pressure needs to be monitored.

2. …went to the dentist?

About a year ago. I have had more problems with my teeth than anything else.

3. …filled your gas tank?

Last Sunday. 300+ miles later, I will need to refill tomorrow or Saturday.

4. …got enough sleep?

Tuesday. I was off sick. Good thing too, I would have never made it through the past 2 days with out that rest.

5. …backed up your computer?

SHHHH. Don’t tell SB…I don’t think computer has ever been backed up.

Started slow finished in a whirlwind

Posted in Job at 10:42 pm by Think-Tink

My day started off very quietly and slowly. I had time to bet back into the swing of things after being off yesterday. Around lunch time things started to pick up, Gym Mom (my sister) called to say she was bringing by the thing lots of people had been waiting for…GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (YUMMMMMMM!). After getting the cookies out to those in need of a fix, Blondie IM’s me to ask if I can take a trip with her. This is no ordinary trip, it is to Richmond, and going to be VERY quick. The traffic gods were with us both ways, we made it in an hour and a half or less each way. We were able to get a really good deal on the hotel rooms Blondie needs for the basketball tournament and good deals on food too. We rushed back, decorated a hotel room for a basketball team guest, and made it to the men’s game with 8 minutes left. Blondie is the secretary for the team.

It was an awesome game! A nail biter, we were ahead with 4 minutes left in a 10 point lead. Well, the other team ate away at the lead and we were tied with 22 seconds on the clock. One of our freshmen made the prettiest 3 point shot with 3 seconds left on the clock. We won by 3.

Just made it home a little while ago. I was tired until I sat down. My day off yesterday did me lots of good as I can now breathe without making any other noises.

I am getting a little sick of this

Posted in Here at 8:43 pm by Think-Tink

I stayed home from work today. My sinuses are bothering me yet again. My doctor has given me stuff to take and it works, but I don’t seem to get all the way better. This is my 3rd day off in 3 months for basically the same thing.

I know alot is going on in the world, but lately I have been too tired to read any of it. I hope to catch up soon.

BB said something priceless today

Posted in Job at 9:13 pm by Think-Tink

SilverBlue and I were talking with BB and she said this . I am really enjoying having BB around. I think she is going to do really good things for the Program.

Of course, most of us were having a “Blonde Day” today. BB loses all of her emails somehow, I keep messing my words up, SB is too, and too many other things to not embarass myslef with here to mention.

Busy weekend came to an end.

Yesterday was nice, Celtic Mama and I had a very good time. Basketball, and food are always ingredients for fun.

The blogs were down last night, thanks to SB for getting the info about the why.

More later…

Wow!

Kenny Rogers tonight was fantastic! For an older gentleman he still has a wonderful voice. He is also comfortable enough with himself that he does what he wants on stage. He gave away $100 to someone in the front row for naming his hits and signaling as they were played. The symphony behind him was great. He sang all of hits that I know of and even poked some fun at himself. We saw “The Gambler VI”. Coolio is a new addition in that. Mr. Rogers told stories about the road and didn’t ignore the audience, and got us involved.

This is like night and day between this concert and the Peter Cetera with the Va. Symphony. The sound was good, everything flowed.

Off to bed for me…
