OK, so it wasn’t a day late, it was an hour early. Isn’t it always the way when your schedule gets thrown out the door it messes up your whole day? I thought I had another hour before leaving for a basketball game today and then noticed the game actuallystarted in an hour. It threw me off for the rest of the day. I don’t move too quickly or smartly on Sundays, so I was doing my normal not even through reading the newspaper by noon. I thought game time was 2 when I saw it was 1. I got there in time, thank goodness there were no tunnel back ups. I did wind up paying $6 for a soda and a hot dog. Why is arena food so expensive? Question for another day…

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
I love to (window) shop! It gets you out of the house, gets you moving, sometimes gives you goals to aim for. One day, it would be nice to walk into a store and just buy something without needing it and having to budget for it. (YES, Revog, jeans are going on the need to budget in list.)
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Gas. (1100 miles will make you do that) At a mall–a TY Beanie Bear named Lagoon. Very pretty teal color.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
I like shopping in a store. I like being able to see the items and know what I am actually getting.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
My allowance was $20 for the month. I usually saved most of it and was a loan shark to my sister who always seemed to be broke.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
The wrong color of yarn that looked good in the store, but didn’t do what I look like I wanted when I got it home.

I am finally home and not vibrating. After a nice 10 hour trip up to Rochester last Sat. It took me 12.5 to get back here. A possible sign maybe?
For those who live in the DC/Baltimore area: How do you do it? I spent 7.5 hours getting from Harrisburg PA to Hampton. Most of it was spent around the DC area. Do you live and work in the same place and not go out of your little area? I thought going through the HRBT was bad, but you have that beat and today wasn’t even a true business day more most people!
I will post more about the vacation and my thoughts as they wandered on the way back tomorrow. My little Echo has 1100 more miles on it than it did a week ago. Not bad though, I averaged about 40-43 MPG. I only used about $40 worth of gas for the whole trip, there and back.
One sad note: I don’t think I will be making it back to Rochester at Christmas, which was a possibility. Mom called me tonight after I got home (we had been talking all day, but she didn’t want to tell me this while I was driving) a cousin, who is like an aunt to me, has brain cancer and is finishing up the radiation and the prognosis isn’t good. Looks like a trip to Atlanta is in my future. This is terrible news and to get it this week is even worse. 9 years ago this week my grandmother on that side of the family died of brain cancer. That was the last time we ate together with my cousin, great aunt and great uncle.
More tomorrow, when I can think clearer than I can right now.

I am ashamed, for once, to be guest blogging on someone’s blog who is currently at a house of a nincompoop (even though she’s sometimes a friendly nincompoop). That being said, Hoppy Thanksgiving to everyone who’s out reading blogs today.
(As an aside to Tink: Stay gone as long as you can. You REALLY don’t want to be here right now. Things are getting better, but… you know how that goes.)
I now return this blog to its rightful owner, who has indulged in so much chocolate that she now is five skin shades darker….

I, Tink, have nothing to do with this . I will only admit to straightening KF on the tree so that he doesn’t look drunk. Neutrality is my name on this. (Switzerland has good chocolate don’t they?).
Roxette, please keep this in mind.

Today, Revog and I were doing some errands and these people up here don’t stop for pedestrians!
From there, we are having a good time. We are sewing and baking and being kids in that we aren’t eating anything good for us. I think I will fit into my clothes on the way home, that is if Revog’s dryer didn’t shrink them. (that’s my story ann I’m sticking to it!).
Tomorrow we make rolls and deviled eggs.
Hmm, Roxette Bunny was supposed to be my guest blogger this week. Wonder where she has been? I might have to let Kermit take over if she doesn’t help me out this week.

We have had a 30 degree drop in temperature today. It is supposed to SNOW tonight! I don’t see why people want to live up here. Snow in November? Ick! It was interesting also that they say snow showers, not saying how much might be coming . In Va. they tell us even is it should only be a dusting. We plan to stay around here tomorrow, just in case the weather is bad. My roses were blooming at home. Should be interesting.

Interesting drive up yesterday. I made the almost 600 miles in 10 hours. I’ll go state by state with what happened.
Virginia: nothing much…smooth traffic through DC!
Maryland: there was a cute guy in a Jeep trying to stay right with me. He was majorly flirting. Nice entertainment for 3 hours into the trip.
Pennsylvania: Road signs suck! Can’t the people clearly mark where you are supposed to go? Putting the sign after the fork as to what way is what is NOT help! OK, so 2 uturns in the middle of the street is probably not good, but it got me where I needed to be. 15 through Pa. reminded me majorly of Central Va. where I grew up.
New York: Don’t the people know what rest areas are?! I almost had to find a tree! The mileage signs lie also! That was not just 78 miles from Corning to Rochester.
Revog has almost started her quest to make none of my clothes fit by the time I leave. The muffin I just had (Cinnabon’s from Sam’s Club) were wonderful. Today’s schedule includes lots of baking, trashing Revog’s kitchen (yes we will eventually clean it) and finding out if her mother and step-father are still talking to each other.
Thank you to all of the people who let me bother them on the way up here. Remember: A cell phone in the wrong hands can be a dangerous thing.

I am going to bed relatively soon. I want to be in Rochester before it gets dark. I prefer to drive roads I know in the dark rather than trying to find somewhere I have only been once and flew that time.
I am so excited! A whole week without dealing with work people and all of that headache. They made it so that I really wanted to leave there when I finally was able to leave. Letters about hiring someone to replace NHB HAD to go out according to PHB. Then something else needed to be done. He even laughed when I looked at the time and murmured something about getting out there and it was already after the time I should have left.
Roxette Bunny is going to guest blog for me while I am away. I am going to try to blog but between a sugar coma and all the lovely craft stuff Revog has, I might not be able to.
Have a wonderful weekend! If you have my cell phone number give me a call sometime tomorrow to entertain me.
